1932 Chrysler – Part Four – Body Trials

I do like building up a vehicle from a frame – part by part. It seems like being part of an actual factory.

In reality the place was probably a welter of hot metal and cursing workers as they struggled to keep up with an assembly line. I can welter and curse too, so that’s authentic…

The bodywork carries some serious chrome embellishment, and it is just as well that it will be seen with the bonnet or hood closed.

There is the foolish rumble seat to build and the even-more-foolish golf bag hatch to insert. I’m sure it would have been a necessary part of the lifestyle of the 30’s playboy and a useful place to hide the bootleg hooch.

Note I have no intention of operating the operating features – I know how fragile they will be. Suffice it to know they are there, like the interior details of a 1:72 bomber that you slave over – only to seal up. It’s a zen thing.
