You can buy as much armour as you can carry, and as many fighter planes, bombers, and battleships as you might get through the front door – but if you want to have a shelf full of light planes in whichever scale you fancy, you can generally go whistle.

The will be a few, but nowhere near the number or variety that a visit to your local small-plane airfield will show you. And very few of the myriads of historical types. If you find one in a kit, buy it instantly, because it may come and go and never come again.

Are we all warmongers? No, some of us are ironmongers. And some of us would like far more civilian planes to build to brighten up the shelves. Just make the decal stripes fit and we’ll do the rest.
