Say what you might about the shape of the Roland C II, it makes for a good small scale model. The interplane struts are broad plates and there are no cabanes.

There is a good exposed engine, unusual fuselage windows, and two German fliers in enthusiastic positions. The gunner is attending to his duties, but the pilot is just skylarking about on the back of the seat before take-off. I think he has seen some girls at the edge of the flying field and is trying his luck.

The decals went down a treat but needed a long time soaking before they would release. The unusual base colour made up for the plain-ness of the scheme.

And I can say that I am more than satisfied with this one – rescuing a discard from the road to the trash and giving it its proper destiny is a real hobby pleasure.

On second thought, I think the pilot – ostensibly Eduard v. Scheich – may have seen a wurst cart and is ordering a knacker with everything.
