The big annual local scale model exhibition had come and gone – and there was some speculation that it had gone forever.*
But I did well. My model Ruritanian airport garnered only slight interest, but the stash sales made it all worth while. This Czech fighter appeared at a very advantageous price and I was cashed up.

The box art for this depicts a Bulgarian aircraft engaged in downing an American B-24. Not a Bulgarian fan myself, but as it is a Czech design I will carry on.

I was amazed to discover the two multicoloured sprue trees also had a brass PE fret and acetate instruments for the panel. At the price I paid I would have been happy with a paper cutout.
As with most RS models, there are decent engraved lines and detail. The wings will lock in well but the tail feathers will need pinning. The tiny canopy is commendably clear.

Two props and two sets of main tyres corresponding to two different air forces. Also alternative air cooler scoops. It is evidence that the Czech firm that moulds the kit takes a pride in the products of their own country – always a good buying combination when you find it.
This was one of 6 models purchased at the exhibition – all of them bargains.
*I think it will continue once the former committee has retired.
