Or should that be noxious?
Whatever, the exaggerated rivet detail on this old Revell kit is probably what causes it to be rejected by the modern builders. Yet, under the spotty exterior is a pattern of decent engraved panel lines.

I researched other’s efforts and found one ambitious chap who sanded the rivets off entirely. His build looked good, but almost too smooth. I determined to try for a compromise – I took to the major parts with a sheet of 1000-grade wet-and-dry paper. Not to remove them entirely – just to knock down their prominence. I know that Mr. Surfacer 1000 would mask them as well.

The interior ejection pin posts were carved off – but this bird has very little interior to worry about.

I would normally quail at the thought of all this, but the plane was a gift anyway, and I always wanted a Ploesti raider.
