Oh dear God.

I have just seen an advertisement for a portable airgun that is ” Hobbyist Approved “. The world is spinning before my eyes. Bells are ringing and strange phantoms drift in an out of my vision. Whether they are approved by hobbyists is unknown.

Children, we are scale model hobbyists and we will approve of ANYTHING. We traipse the aisles of every hobby shop in town plus Bunnings, Spotlight, and Red Dot, and everything we see might win our approval. We would buy up big at the local Indian grocery shop if nan bread could be used for scale modelling. We are totally open to suggestions. And not just from lush ladies…

We can go through any shop in town and SEE THE POSSIBILITIES. Items that have no connection at all with scale modelling are added to the mental stocks…and if we ever need a special part or shape or colour…we know it exists.

Don’t pity the dullards who cannot do this. Just push past them and sift through the bins at the local shop, and remember the heady days of Woolworth’s 5¢ and 10¢ stores.
