Are all you need.

Have you ever been to a fast food outlet that tried to sell you food by asking whether you wanted to ” up-size ” it? Did you agree or decline, thinking that a standard-size assault on your gall bladder was all you really needed? You felt you had just been hustled.

Have you had the same experience in the hobby shop? A kit you’ve chosen is surrounded by after-market packets of resin, brass, and whitemetal, and you are made to feel inadequate if you do not take home goods to double the price.

Take heart, refuse politely, go home with your new kit and the opportunity to show your skill and artistry. You do not need to up-size, up-grade, or extra-spend. The kit makers have either provided you with all you need, or a wonderful base to grow from. It need not impoverish you.
