And why I never heed them…
This kit appeared in my local hobby shop before I read a review of it. It was reasonably priced, a Vintage Classic, and a type I had never built before. I forked over the cash and took it home.
The review was not mealy-mouthed; it said this was the worst kit Airfix ever boxed. It cited ejector pin marks, distorted fuselage halves, poor fitting canopy, and a general lack of fit everywhere.

The reviewer was right. Even in sprue tree form, the nasty character of the aircraft is evident. It has the dreaded two-part clear nose, enough pin marks to keep you busy for a week, and flash everywhere. It is a boxed-up scratch-build project…

At least the instructions, box art, and decals are satisfying. it is a prototype aircraft, so the choices are limited.

Wish me luck…
