Čmelák – Part One – Oh, I Don’t Know

” I’ve never built an Eduard kit – I might as well…

And here are two versions – the Profipack and the Weekend. Three dollars difference in them…but I suspect that the dearer one would have photo-etch that I hate. Why not save a few bucks?

Looks like I get four choices of Czech markings with this one – some based on a bright chrome yellow scheme. What the heck. “

And so it proved – I fought my way through the school-holiday-post-Boxing Day crowd and escaped with the Bumblebee.

The kit is two neat modern Czech sprue trees in grey and a sparkling clear one. The decals are clean and the instructions delightful; some of the best colour call-out drawings I’ve yet seen. Fortunately there is a stencil page that makes sense of the Czech lettering.

This will be my first agricultural aircraft – I’ll let you know whether it was a good idea in a week. Or a weekend…

  1. Eduard model kits are not for the faint-hearted modellers.
