You might very well love it some day.
The formation flying team you see started life as four out-of-scale plastic toy fighters that were packaged with Plasticville airport buildings.
Made in the mid-1950’s these structures populated thousands of O-guage and S-guage toy train layouts in North America. The lettering and insignia on the planesare in raised panels on the wings; they are a product of the times.
Now they are a product of Hong Kong and are still available at modest prices. The collectors of the old Plasticville buildings try to get fabulous prices for originals on eBay. Modern Bachmann ones are far less.
The planes are a mish-mash of US design roughly akin to a Lockheed F-90. The grey plastic is slightly soft. I might have tossed them in a bin after taking the airport hangars out of the Bachmann box but instinct told me they were going to fly somewhere, sometime.
They came to my studio and now they are going to fly on the net – probably forever. I do hope the image is stolen by Meta and used to train AI…
