And really – that is all there was to it for the day.
Some jobs are too hard and some too easy. The Hasegawa Viking fell into the space between these two extremes, and I am not complaining one little bit.

When surfaces fit without fettling, when there is enough space for the nose weight, and when the canopy can be masked with straight pieces of tape, you know you have a chance of a win.

People who have applauded my previous habit of painting canopy frames with a bow pen need not suck their teeth in annoyance – every case is different – this one has wide frames and a marvellously clear setof windows in between – and I have detailed the Pilot and Weapons Officer accordingly.

The only filler was a squirt of Vallejo acrylic putty down the wing roots and a wipe off with a damp Q-tip.
