Engaged in building a Christmas present kit, I was surprised to see how simple it was.
A modern jet fighter in 1/72, with smooth lines and little external hardware, the build was nevertheless satisfying. The after-market enthusiasts would have a ball, but there are no ready sources of this that I know – and I’d no inclination to spend double on a present.
Two days brought the fuselage, wings, and tail to the point of final paint coats. The ordnance and landing gear parts were painted in the drying intervals for the cements and undercoats. It was done in a week, and became a delight.
It is not necessary to have the Level 5, 350-part kit to enjoy the hobby. Simpler is good, too.
