Walk On

What does Pablo Picasso think of your models?

Hard to say. Sr. Picasso turned in his paella spoon many years ago. Anything we say about his opinions now would be just imagining. But I do suspect Pablo would approve of them…on one condition.

Do you approve of them?

Pablo Picasso walked his own line for most of his artistic life. Sometimes it was to the applause of the critics, and sometimes to their jeers. But I don’t think he turned towards or away from the sound at all…I think he just kept on walking.

Why? Because he had visions and styles of his own, and the courage to pursue them independent of the let or hindrance of others. You can take an example…not that we are suggesting you wear striped shirts or a beret. But you can copy his courage.

Is your latest model as good as you can do? Display it with pride. Is it different from those that others build? All the better. Does it gain the judge’s approval? Who cares. The judge is not you.

Be a craftsman if you can. Be a businessman if that pleases you. But be an artist in your heart – always. Walk on your own line and at your own pace.
