Boeing Clipper 314 – Part Five – A Soul At Rest

It took an extra week, but the time was worth it.

The aggravating mistakes of the first Boeing Clipper 314 have been corrected. The mental image I had of the result has come into focus. I can rest easy.

The duraluminium surface has been all I could ask for – taking decals perfectly and keeping its bright glow even with handling. I am not going to dim it with a clear spray. I shall remember how I did it for future builds.

The spotting stripe on the top of the wing has also been successful and prompted me to peer more closely at the box art on the Airfix kit – it is indeed orange there as well.

The windows in the hull were glazed in the end with PVA wiped inside the frames.

Now for some little harbour boats on the plastic water and I can display it alongside the DIXIE CLIPPER. This one is AMERICAN CLIPPER.
