A Pause Refreshes

And not just in the goffer trade.

We all need to stop, wait, turn away, or find another thing to do occasionally – if we are not to burn out or become blasé about scale modelling.

I have spent a month away from serious modelling – turning my attention to another hobby: photography. I’ve made new equipment, taken new photos. composed a photo book, and cleaned out the hard drive yet again. It was all a pleasure because it was different from the workbench.

Indeed, it was as good as a holiday on a beach. I have come back refreshed, with money in my pocket, and no intestinal problems. I have new accomplishments and may have a brag book on the shelf one day.

And I can set-to out in the Little Workshop undercoating models and putting down base colour coats with a new sense of freshness. My club days are sweeter – even if the individual projects started before the month have extended longer than usual.

Hey, I’m not on a government contract here! You can tell by the fact that I do it under-budget and in a reasonable time. Try getting that performance out of the Roads Department…
