I have watched videos explaining the idea of scale effect upon paint schemes.
They seem to make a great deal of fuss explaining that you mix grey, yellow, or white into darker colours when you are painting smaller-scale models. This is in direct contrast to many manufacturers of trains and cars who want the exact colour paint unaltered. I detect over-thinking…
I have tried both ideas, and fall somewhere in the middle – a little weathering, a dulling of some colours, but overall a clean finish. I depend upon the final varnish in gloss, semi-gloss, or matte to do more than just seal in the decals – I use it to characterize the finish.
Here, Grey Ghost has the two-tone modern USAF air superiority camo using straingt Mr Color grey lacquers while Spider has the Mr Color ” Cowling Colour ” broken with a little grey, In 1/144 I think they will stand out well.
