The public display of scale models of any kind is best done to other enthusiasts. They will be critical of your work, but generally sympathetic enough to see what you are trying to show. Joe Soap who just slings along with nothing better to do will not appreciate anything.

He will react to models in a way – pointing, fingering, or poking delicate detail. He may ask what it is supposed to be, or whether you are having good fun. The closest he comes to connection is to ask how much it costs.

Be patient. Endure the jibes. Place yourself in the way of intruding fingers. Try to be pleasant – His interest will snap away as fast as it does with a mobile phone image.
