Please do not shoot the committee.
No matter what the organisers of anything do, there will be critics. Even if an event goes perfectly – with no hitches at all – someone will complain that it could have been bigger, better, cheaper, or raspberry-flavoured.
If the weather, traffic, or crowds present a problem, the critics regard this as better traction to push their complaints harder.
Let us ease up on this. The people who do most organising do not benefit from it – any more than the general run of exhibitors. No sacks of doubloons are handed round to the officials and there are very few orgies.
Think, criticise, propose by all means. Do it with a mind to improve – not just jeer. You may have a genuinely good idea – like the person who thought up the lights for the last WASMex competition hall. Everyone benefited there.
Put ideas forward gently – the committee will listen. Who knows, you may be given a medal…
