And not sure when the voyage will end.

The galley depicted here looks very much like illustrations of an Academy kit of a Roman galley – 1/72 scale – that appears on the Amazon website. I presume it is this one, though it may have been bought some time ago.

It has been built magnificently – and the most interesting part for me are the gilded lions used as supports on the stand. Kit parts, or acquisitions elsewhere?

I am little attracted to modern warships and only marginally to those of earlier eras…but this has enough colour and dash to change that.
