The Dorchester

When You Take The Office With You

This model of the AEC command vehicle nicknamed the Dorchester was one of the highlights for me at the recent WASMex exhibition. I think the appeal was the fact that the modeller left the roof off and super-detailled the interior.

I cannot tell from my photo whether the vehicle is still in British hands or one of the two captured by the Germans – the writing on the maps is beyond my eyesight. I would think that if General Montgomery were using it, it would have been kept in neater order, but perhaps he favoured shabby chic.

Whatever, the thing is delightful, and I hope the effort was rewarded.
