In this case, I believe, a Puffin.
I was delighted to see that someone entered a model of this bird in the WASMex competition this year. A recent video we made mentioned the kits that were once produced of North American songbirds and asked where they had got to.
Perhaps the idea has never gone away – there may be numbers of plastic and resin kits of suitable birds just waiting for the paint brush.
I should think that any figure painter would have a ball with theses – as they are generally pretty good with shading and washes on the human figures – how much better would the feathers be!
And a bonus – many species have several colours for the male and female and change them with the seasons – a whole family of birds to paint. Nesting time means a diorama…
