And if you don’t, but get it anyway, who is responsible?
Every scale model kit that ever went into a box or bag was put there by people who hoped for something. They aspired to money, admiration, respect, or grudging acceptance. Like a marriage, really, but with sprue trees.
Few of us got a decal sheet when we were married…
The kits have experienced various fates after that – some got bought and sold -some bought and kept. Many have gotten to the next stage and been started, and some have got over the line to being built.
Many have been displayed, and a few entered into contests.
In the end, a great many have been given away, thrown away, or otherwise lost to history. I daresay there is a last kit of something, somewhere, still unbuilt – and it is worth an absolute fortune – or $ 5 at the swap meet.
Hey, when I was a kid, $ 5.00 was an absolute fortune. I’d still take the bus these days to avoid spending it.
