The long slog of a kit build always seems to start with a cockpit. And some are slower starters than others.
I particularly dread the PE and resin confections that the Czech small run makers mould up. They sometimes look good when completed but nearly always are an indefinite Tinker Toy as you try to cement them together. This Italeri injection-moulded cockpit has just enough detail supplied SOOTB to reward a careful cement job and some painting.

Whilst doing it, of course, there are periods of hiatus. I fill these in with weapon load construction so that doesn’t slow me down at the end. The real problem is not to lose parts in the confusion later – I now tape them to the inside of the carton as I go.

Note how nice the office looks with just a few of the decals laid on.
