The Little World

Here is the 5th issue of TRUE SCALE – the newsletter of the Scale Model Club Of Western Australia. It marks a new calendar year and a fresh experiment in presentation.

Prior to this, the pages that make up the newsletter were passing through several mechanisms to get here – some of which softened the appearance of the typescript. People with good eyesight started to see the sort of things I see all the time; and I have cataracts and spectacles. Hopefully, if they can open the pdf file on their device, they can see the copy and images as clearly as they are in the Pages program built into the iMac computer.

There is still one experiment to be attempted – sending the newsletter to individuals via email. A list was taken earlier in the year of possible recipients, but was kept back when we discovered that the TRUE SCALE files were too big to pass through the Optus system.

Then Optus itself was hacks and highjacked and I was glad I’d not disclosed other people’s information – I binned and destroyed the list. It will need re-building.

Tribute must be paid in this issue to John, the faithful henchman. He struggled up off a bed of Covid to write his article and provide illustrations for a military car he is building. We are nothing if not dedicated. You do not need hand sanitiser to read it.
