Swiss Ju-52 – Part Two – The Inside Story

I have beetled on before about how I like Italeri kits. I particularly like their multi-engine jobs that have interior fittings.

Whether they are civilian or military, the inclusion of inside bits always makes for a more satisfying build. Oh, I know the old argument about no-one seeing in there after you are done, but that misses the point that you have seen and learned about the interior as you’ve made it. And you can feel dead chuffed about it.

The instructions, however, can sometimes lead you astray. Not as bad as the Czechs, mind…In this case the colour call-out for the interior was markedly different from what an internet search reveals. And as the net images are in colour, you can take them as fairly accurate.

Italeri market this basic Junkers for several versions, and are not stinting with the military kit. Machine guns, troop seats, and military crew are included. For the SOOTB airliner, they have included an entirely different floor pan, 12 arm rest seats, and even a new partition between the cockpit and passenger compartment. Add to this the different window patterns, and you can see why I admire the company’s efforts.

Note that there are still two machine gun ports on the side windows, but remember this is Europe and the passengers have to have something to do on long flights.
