Will never make bacon.
My tour down the airplane aisle of my local hobby shop showed very little new but I noticed that they have ordered and arranged the kits according to manufacturer again. And yet again the section of eastern European ex-soviet unaccountables is fully stocked.
I do not think they’ve had a fresh shipment…I think that they have never been able to sell the ones that the wholesaler stuck them with three years ago.
We have passed through the covid-induced drought and started to get more Czech kits…but these ex-Russian and ex-Ukrainian kits have not tempted anyone to any activity. I am not surprised, because ex-soviet experimental and design planes can have little traction in Australia.
Perhaps the shop was compelled to take them to allow access to faster-selling kits wholesaled by an eastern-states firm. That used to be done in a lot of industries, and led to some pretty odd stock on local shelves, or very odd movies in local theatres.
Courage is what is needed – either a styrene bonfire or a pennies-in-the-pound sacrifice sale to clear what would otherwise be useful sales space. A short embarrassment rather than one extended for years.
