The reputation of older kits is low, but I think this can be undeserved judgement.
This FROG moulding is all that one could decently want for the original cost and hits well above its weight at the stash price. The seams have met my expectations – and more importantly, the other parts they were designed to contact. The clear parts are perfectly acceptable given my painting technique, and the lack of cockpit detail is utterly unimportant. I look upon it as a Bauhaus cockpit…
Dry-fit is fine – the sinkholes have filled nicely – and even the raised detail is still present. It could absorb 15 X the amount that was spent on it in after-market brass and resin and no real improvement would be evident. Note that the 15 X money would be coming out of either grocery or drinking money, and you can see my hesitation to super-detail.
A man has to have his priorities right to succeed in this world.
