Third one, actually – as I have built two other Lancaster bombers in the past.
The first was an old Airfix kit in 1960, the next a new Airfix kit in the last 5 years. The old model was SOOTB as an RAF subject. The new model became an RCAF rescue aircraft. This Hasegawa kit will become a French naval patrol bomber that has a very Western Australian connection.

The kit is superb. no flash seen – no sink marks. One oddity in that correction parts and a correction sheet are included – there may be some controversy about the turret shape at the rear. My build will need some modification of the fuselage anyway, so I am not fussy.

The instructions are detailed – the decal sheet a delight. No use will be made of the interior of the bomb bay or the guns. The H2S dome is essential, though, so this kit is an absolute winner for me.

The colour scheme is all-white – the decals sheet an aftermarket Xtradecal pack picked up on the off-chance years ago. And I have multiple colour photos taken of the aircraft on the ground on a specific date.

Zut, Alors!
