I pondered about that when I read it on the colour call-out. I always regarded the Douglas Skyraider as a bomb truck attack aircraft.
Still, it was armed with four large guns plus the rocket pods so it would not have been a good idea to get in front of it on a busy day. This version has come out well in an overall grey finish with plenty of spare space on the racks. With future A-1H builds there will be a full carriage of bombs and tanks to show just what the type was capable of.
The build was superb – not a part wrong and no filler whatsoever. The decals were a problem, but worked well in the end. After the semi-matte spray varnish, you can hardly tell that they are a home-print job. People who prefer to paint wing walks and propeller tips are well served with this kit.
There are two more to go to finish the attack series, and if any of the ASW or fire bomber types appear in the shops I shall bring them home as well.
